Baowu Aluminum's deep processing project proceeds as planned

On June 14, Li Tao, the head of Department of Industry and Information Technology of Henan provided an update on Baowu Aluminum's aluminum alloy casting and deep processing project.
Up to now, a total of 1.85 billion yuan (268 million US dollars) has been invested in the project, with construction of steel plate workshop, casting plant, cold rolling plant and finishing plant on track to complete. The company has issued tenders for major equipment, and the design work and manufacturing of the major import equipment and long-lead equipment have started as stipulated in the contract.
The project is jointly invested by Baowu Steel, Henan Energy Chemical Group and Sanmenxia government. Total investment is estimated at 6.14 billion yuan (889 million US dollars) for the phase I project which has a designed production capacity of 300,000tpy and is expected to go into operation in June 2020.
