1. Market Highlights
The domestic steel plate market performed inactively during the month, and prices fell back. Though prices for raw materials increased obviously, the poor sales performance forced traders for steel plate to move down prices continuously. The rigid demand from downstream industries remained insufficient, and end users were inactive in placing large orders, with wait-and-see attitudes. Besides, traders were cautious about supplementing inventories seeing high purchasing costs but decreasing selling prices. In the meantime, prices for steel plate either kept stable or decreased a little bit in other Asian markets during the month. Insiders foresee another price decline for steel plate next month.
