1. Market Highlights
Though prices for raw materials rose obviously boosted by the short supply, the domestic section steel market performance this month was even worse than that of December as the demand shrank day by day with the approach of the Spring Festival (5 February). Reporting limited sales volumes, traders showed little confidence in the market prospect and were inactive in supplementing inventories, and end users were also cautious about placing large orders, with wait-and-see attitudes. Prices for section steel declined slightly in other Asian markets. Considering the overall market inventory runs on a low level, insiders foresee a slight price increase for section steel in February.
