Zhangjiakou and Langfang to finish steel de-capacity in 2019

It was learned from the second meeting of the 13th People's Congress of Hebei Province that Zhangjiakou and Langfang will also finish the steel de-capacity in 2019 after Baoding became the first "no-steel city" in Hebei.
At the meeting, Xu Qin, the governor of Hebei Province, made a government work report to the conference on behalf of the provincial government. The report pointed out that in 2018, the province did a solid job to eliminate capacity and surpassed the annual de-capacity tasks in the six major industries. It eliminated and cut steel capacity of 12.3 million tons, coal by 14.01 million tons, and coke by 5.17 million tons. All "dead steel enterprises" were shut down.
In 2019, Hebei Province will unswervingly resolve excess capacity, strictly implement standards such as quality, environmental protection, energy consumption, and safety, shutting down small enterprises and promote large-scale ones. It will further eliminate steel capacity of 14 million tons, coal of 10 million tons, and coke 3 million tons. The steel de-capacity in Zhangjiakou and Langfang will be realized.
