1. Market Highlights
Chinese gallium metal 99.99%min prices kept stable in the first half of December. Producers were reluctant to lower prices further, and consumers waited on the sidelines, waiting for lower prices. Thus, the spot market saw inactive transactions. As the inventory pressure of producers eased after they sold a large number of their products, they had intention of raising prices together. Therefore, mainstream prices for the material edged up in the second half of the month. Worrying about the higher prices, consumers started to make purchases. As a result, transactions were more active compared with those in the first half of the month. Insiders predicted that transactions in spot market would be limited and prices would stabilize in January when the market participants would take the Spring Festival holiday.
