Taiyuan cancels unified production restriction or halt proportion in high emission industries

Recently, an action plan on comprehensive management of air pollution in autumn and winter from 2018 to 2019 was released in Taiyuan, Shanxi. In accordance with the action plan, the unified production restriction or halt proportion in high emission industries is required to be canceled to promote industrial companies to conduct staggering peak production based on local realities.
The action plan noted that the average concentration of PM 2.5 will decline by 2.5% YOY by March 31st, 2019, with the number of days with heavy air pollution to be reduced continuously. According to the action plan, the unified production restriction or halt proportion is required to be canceled in steel, building material, coking, casting, non-ferrous and chemical industries so as to stimulate industrial companies to conduct staggering peak production based on local realities. Meanwhile, the period to stagger peak production should be shorted or extended based on monthly air quality expectation and monitoring results during heating season.
