1. Market Highlights
The silicomanganese market showed a stable trend in September. Early this month, mainstream spot prices of silicomanganese stood at RMB8,700-8,900/t (USD1,257-1,286/t) Inc-VAT EXW D/P; approaching early this month, silicomanganese market saw rare transactions, and the price slightly went down by RMB200/t (USD28.91/t); in mid-to-late September, the market saw balances supply and demand with stable prices.
Manganese ore prices showed little change this month. On the one hand, prices of downstream alloy remained stable, so manganese ore prices lacked the support; on the other hand, manganese ore inventory at Tianjin Port and Qinzhou Port reached almost 3 million tons, which affected manganese ore prices.
