In August, most steel mills in Xuzhou, Jiangsu were still in production halt. The production restriction upon steel mills in Hebei, Henan, and Jiangsu became stricter, and the demand for iron ore remained weak. Prices for domestic iron ore fines in Northeast, North, East, and South China went up to different extent; pellet prices greatly increased. As for imported iron ore fines, prices for medium-low quality iron ire fines showed insignificant change; those for high-quality low-Al iron ore fines showed an up-down trend in a range; prices for iron ore lumps and SFCJ remained at a high level firmly owing to steel mills' strong demand. According to insiders, although the demand for iron ore would decrease, iron ore prices would fluctuate in a range and unlikely to drop with the peak-season of steel product market.
