1. Market Highlights
In August, prices of wire rod and rebar in Chinese leading markets went up by around RMB200/t (USD29/t) compared with those in July. In early August and middle August, prices continued on the upward trend, while they began to fall back in late August as a reasonable decrease after long-term rise. Stocks of wire rod and rebar in leading regions ran at low levels at the end of August and the demand from building sites is likely to traditionally strengthen in September. Taking all factors into consideration, insiders suppose prices of wire rod and rebar will go up in the coming month.
