Smelting technology renovation project of Wenshan Zinc and Indium Smelting to come on stream

The launch ceremony of the smelting technology renovation project with annual capacity of 100,000t of zinc and 60t of indium (the "Project") of Wenshan Zinc and Indium Smelting Co., Ltd. was reportedly held on 30 August.
The original construction unit of the project was Yunnan Hualian Zinc and Indium Co., Ltd. In order to speed up the project process, on April 14, 2016, Yunnan Tin Group (Holding) Co., Ltd. changed the investment and construction subject of the project from Yunnan Hualian Zinc and Indium Co., Ltd. to Wenshan Zinc and Indium Smelting Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yunnan Tin Co., Ltd.
The designed capacity of the project is 100,000tpy of zinc ingot, with by-products of sulphuric acid, refined indium, and the project also comprehensively recoves valuable elements such as indium, cadmium, copper, cobalt, silver, and iron. The total investment of the project is RMB2.52506 billion, of which RMB235.2098 million is for the environmental protection investment, accounting for 9.315% of the project cost, and the construction period is two years.
