Xinjiang takes lead in China's manganese-enriched ore reserve

Department of Land and Resources of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region announced a significant breakthrough in West Kunlun Maerkansu manganese ore exploration. Locating in Aketedu County of Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture and consisting of three large and medium-sized manganese ore deposits, the belt covers a length of 65km with its west end in Tajikistan. In June, another 7.49 million tonnes of manganese ore were found in one of those three manganese deposits and the total manganese ore reserves detected exceeded 50 million tonnes with an average grade of over 30%. With over 100 million tonnes of hypothetical reserves, it has become the largest manganese ore resources exploration and development base in Xinjiang.
Based on the above breakthrough, Xinjiang becomes the richest region of manganese ore in China. Beside northwest China rich in manganese-enriched ore, southwest China is attached the same significance. The new mine has stable ore-bearing horizon, high ore grade, great potential and dressing convenience. The result will further enrich China's poor manganese-enriched ore resources.
