1. Market Highlights
Prices for steel plate kept fluctuating frequently during the month. On the one hand, holding low inventories at hand, traders were eager to lift prices when those of raw materials and in the steel futures market soared, while on the other hand, the downstream demand remained insufficient influenced by continuous rains and high temperature, which restrained prices for steel plate from rising obviously. Meanwhile, end users were inactive in placing large orders, complaining high purchasing costs and narrowed profits. Considering the overall stockpile remains low, insiders foresee a slight price rise of steel plate in August.
