1. Market Highlights
Prices of CRC and HGI coil in Chinese leading markets struggled to move up by around RMB100/t (USD16/t) respectively this month, mainly supported by increased prices of steel raw materials. However, CRC and HGI coil market performance was not so good and their markup was not as large as those of HRC, which touched RMB150-200/t (USD23-31/t). As a consequence, steel mills were not active in producing CRC or HGI coil and some of them cut planned output for June production, when it will be the traditional low season for flat steel consumption. Insiders predict that prices of CRC and HGI coil are likely to fall back in June.
