1. Market Highlights
In April, in domestic market, the dominating prices for Chinese zirconium silicates, zirconium oxychlorides and carbonates as well as fused zirconias went up mainly as a reaction to rising prices of raw materials. However, the prevailing prices of Chinese zirconium sponge moved down slightly affected by reduced demand. Chinese zircon sand prices remained flat as they have increased in advance in March.
In April, as for overseas market, Tronox's Australian and South African zircon sands' import prices have increased by USD125/t at least in Q1 2018 and would keep at this level during Q2 2018. Iluka would increase prices by USD180/t at least from Q2 till Q3 2018. RBM would raise prices greatly by USD300-330/t in Q2 2018. The Indonesian zircon sand market saw limited supply and continuously increasing prices.
