1. Market Highlights
Prices of CRC and HGI coil in Chinese leading markets went up by around RMB150/t (USD24/t) and RMB200/t (USD31/t) respectively this month, mainly supported by the boom in steel futures market and increased prices of steel raw materials. Due to higher supply and weaker demand, CRC prices went up more slowly than others did such as HRC and HGI coil. Steel mills show reduced confidence in the coming market and offered more discounts to attract customers to place orders for May production. It will be the traditional low season for steel consumption in May. Insiders predict that prices of CRC and HGI coil are likely to come down in May.
