Supported by increased production cost, prices of wire rod and rebar in most regions of China rebounded by RMB300-400/t (USD47-63/t) in April, while those in North China witnessed a smaller markup due to high stocks. Actually wire rod and rebar stocks in Chinese leading markets accelerated to come down this month, amid with rising prices. However, the demand from downstream industries is likely to shrink in May, which is the traditional low season. Insiders suppose prices of wire rod and rebar will fall gradually in the coming month.
