China Minmetals Non-ferrous Metals' lead concentrate and rare-precious metals comprehensive recovery project formally begins

On 16 April, 2018, the lead concentrate and rare-precious metals comprehensive recovery project of the Cu-Pb-Zn production base for China Minmetals Non-ferrous Metals formally began, which indicated that the combined smelting technology of lead and zinc has taken a key step forward in the Cu-Pb-Zn production base.
The project, taking up 125mu, is located in Shuikoushan town, Hengyang city of Hunan, and to the west of the Eighth Smelter of Shuikoushan Group. The project has an annual capacity of 100,000t for lead, 4.5t for gold, and 468t for silver, with a processing capacity of 6,500t for anode slime in the rare-precious metals comprehensive recovery system.
The Cu-Pb-Zn production base for China Minmetals Non-ferrous Metals is expected to invest more than RMB10billion, to form a production capacity of "300,000tpy for copper + 300,000tpy for zinc + 100,000tpy for lead". The newly built zinc smelting project of 300,000tpy is reportedly the first zinc smelter project in China to be built a capacity 300,000tpy in one time. It can realize the orderly withdrawal and acceptance of the smelting business of Qingshuitang of Zhuzhou Smelter Group, which is expected to be completed and put into production late 2018. In the aftermath, the existing lead and rare-precious metals comprehensive recovery system of 100,000tpy will be upgraded; on the base of the copper project of 100,000tpy in Minmetals Copper (Hunan), a copper smelter project of 200,000tpy will be expanded and built in a timely manner.
