In January, in domestic market, the mainstream prices for Chinese zircon sands, zirconium silicates and fused zirconias all lifted due to tight supply or raw materials'increased prices. However, the dominating prices of Chinese zirconium oxychlorides, zirconium carbonates and zirconium sponges remained unchanged with further support from downstream demand. The sport market for all zirconium products saw slacker transactions on the whole.
In January, as for overseas market, Tronox's Australian and South African zircon sands'import prices increased by USD125/t at least from January 1st, 2018 and would keep at this level during H1 of 2018. However, Iluka's Australian zircon sands'and RBM's South African zircon sand's prices would stand stable in Q1 of 2018.The Indonesian zircon sand market also saw lifted prices at the same time. The market supply of major zircon sands saw slow supply generally.
