1. Market Highlights
Prices for steel plate continued to go down influenced by the dim market as well as prices decreases of raw materials, coupled with participants' pessimistic attitudes. They dropped obviously in the first half of the month, and tended to be stable or even rebounded slightly in the second half. End users were cautious about placing orders seeing the downward price trend, for fear of another price decline. Reporting limited sales volumes, traders refused to build large inventories, and the whole market ran slowly. Considering the market will remain inactive before the right after the Lunar New Year (February 16), insiders think the price for steel plate is unlikely change obviously in February.
