1. Market Highlights
After rebounding sharply in November, prices of wire rod and rebar in Chinese leading markets gradually fell back by RMB200-300/t (USD31-46/t) this month. Most steel mills resumed production in December as the environmental protection inspection was not so strict. Overall stock of wire rod and rebar increased accordingly but traders and downstream consumers were not active in replenishing them due to high purchasing costs. Insiders suppose prices of wire rod and rebar will come down further in the coming month.
