Jinduicheng Molybdenum's Mo-alloy fuel tubes and bars project passes professional inspection

Recently, Stage One of the project Mo-alloy fuel tubes and bars implemented by Jinduicheng Molybdenum successfully passes professional inspection ("the Project").
As part of the contract Jinduicheng Molybdenum signed in Sep 2016 with China General Nuclear Power Group Research Institute Co., Ltd . ("CGN Institute") on developing new-type coatings of nuclear fuels, the Project aims to develop Mo-alloy coatings used as fault-tolerant materials . After the Fukushima nuclear accident, the global nuclear power community has been striving to improve fault-tolerant technology, and this provides an important opportunity for China to achieve a great leap in its nuclear technology development . The Project is also an important component of a major national scientific program Research on Key Technologies of Fault-tolerant Material which aims to make breakthrough progress in developing new nuclear-fuel coating materials to replace traditional materials.
Jinduicheng Molybdenum claimed that, with the Project passing professional inspection, it is now capable of producing high-quality thin-wall Mo tubes and therefore makes great progress in surmounting the globally tricky issue of toughness of molybdenum metal. This is of great importance for the company to realize its technical upgrading and optimization of its products, and also lays sound foundation for carrying out further cooperation with CGN Institute in the field of developing new-type coatings of nuclear fuels.
