EEC levies AD duty on Chinese seamless steel tubes imported from Malaysia

It is reported that Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has decided on December 13 to impose 19.15% anti-dumping duty on China-origin cold-rolled seamless steel tubes imported from Malaysia.
In April 2013, EEC levied 19.15% anti-dumping duty on cold-rolled seamless steel tubes originating in China. The AD investigation of EEC showed that Malaysia did not produce the material but it exported 1475.7t of cold-rolled seamless steel tubes to the countries of Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) in 2016, accounting for 32.7% of the total imports of the material in the Union countries. Thus, EEC doubted that China-origin cold-rolled steel tubes were exported to Malaysia and then to the countries of EEU to evade anti-dumping duty. As a result, EEC initiated anti-dumping investigation review on cold-rolled seamless steel tubes from China and Malaysia in April 2017.
