1. Market Highlights
Prices for section steel increased slightly in major Chinese domestic markets following prices rises of steel billet during the month. However, despite the temporarily warm-up right after the 8-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the market in the third and fourth week performed as quietly as it did in September. On the one hand, frequent prices changes heightened downstream customers’ wait-and-see attitudes and they were cautious about placing orders, while on the other hand, the rigid downstream demand shrank obviously as lots of construction projects were forced to halt progress by restrict environmental protection policies. Reporting unsatisfactory sales performance, traders controlled stockpiles within safety level to avoid potential risks. Insiders think the section steel price is likely to go down slightly in November.
