Rizhao Steel restarts one wire rod production line

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 25 Oct 17 - Shandong province-based Rizhao Steel resumed the production of one wire rod production line on Tuesday which was stopped last week, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
According to the source, they halted one wire rod production line on 18th October for equipment maintenance for about six days with a total output reduction of around 12,000t. “This is regular facility maintenance which happens almost every month,” he said.
There are three wire rod production lines and one rebar production line in Rizhao Steel with a total output of around 240,000tpm. Unlike other steel mills, they do not have stocks in hand and customers need to place orders in advance.
According to the source, the current price of wire rod Q235 Ф6.5mm in Rizhao, Shandong province is about RMB4,400/t (USD664/t) VAT included, up by RMB30/t (USD5/t) on Tuesday.
