Zhongye Changtian signs contract with Xinjiang Zijin Zinc on expansion of tailing pond

Zhongye Changtian International Engineering Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with Xinjiang Zijin Zinc Co., Ltd. on August 31st about the expansion of the tailing pond of Wulagen Lead-Zinc Mine. According to the agreement, Zhongye Changtian is entrusted to expand the tailing pond taking advantages of current topographic condition.
The project is located in Wuqia County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the first phase project which was designed by Zhongye Changtian with 24 meters in height and 4.155 million cubic meters in storage capacity of the initial dam, finished construction in September 2012. Xinjiang Zijin entrusted Zhongye Changtian to design the second phase project to construct dam adopting the upstream method with the height of 30 meters and the storage capacity of about 30 million cubic meters in the stacking dam. This time, they plan to take advantage of the surrounding topographic condition to expand the range of the tailing pond and will adopt central line dam construction method to expand the storage capacity to 100 million cubic meters.

The tailing pond can store tailings produced by 127 million tons of ores after finishing the expansion.
