MIIT convenes meeting to promote upstream and downstream cooperation on aluminum materials for civil aircrafts

On 18 August 2017, the mid-year promotion meeting for upstream and downstream cooperation on aluminum materials for civil aircrafts (hereinafter referred to as the Cooperation) organized by raw material and facility departments of MIIT was held in Yantai, Shandong. Nearly 50 representatives from more than 20 corporations such as SASTIND, CAA, AVIC, COMAC, Nanshan Aluminum, CHINALCO attended this meeting; Shandong EITC and leaders in Yantai also presented and made a speed on the meeting.
The meeting was hosed by Zhou Changyi, director of the raw material department; while Yu Wei, the vice director, introduced the general progress of the Cooperation. Li Duokui, vice director of supporting department of SASTIND, explained the latest development of civil-military integration of domestic aircrafts. COMAC, Nanshan Aluminum, CHINALCO (including Dongqing Company, Southwest Aluminum Company and Northwest Aluminum Plant), Liaoning Zhongwang, BIAM, Nonferrous Institute and Nonferrous Research Institute respectively reported work schedule of key tasks of aluminum materials for civil aircrafts. Wu Guanghui, designer of C919, shared the idea and requirement from suppliers and aluminum alloy standard for C919. Chen Ting, officer of CAA Shanghai, stated the request on aircraft materials based on statistics.
Zhou Changyi concluded at the meeting that the annual work went well owing to joint effort of all corporations with a mutual encourage layout between state-owned enterprises and civil enterprises formed . In H2 of 2017, all members should make persistent efforts to strengthen upstream and downstream cooperation and fasten developing process, guaranteeing key tasks to be fulfilled on schedule so as to lay solid foundation for application of aluminum materials in civil aircrafts.
