Global market's crude steel output up by 2.0% YOY in May 2017

According to statistics released by World Steel Association, 67 counties that enter World Steel Association saw 143.3 million tons of crude steel in May 2017, up by 2.0% YOY.
China and Japan produced 72.3 million tons and 9 million tons of crude steel respectively in May 2017, up by 1.8% YOY and 0.1% YOY.
Germany, Italy and Spain saw 3.8 million tons, 2.1 million tons and 1.2 million tons of the material respectively in May 2017, down by 1.4% YOY, 4.1% YOY and 3.7% YOY. France produced 1.4 million tons of the material in May 2017, up by 21.5% YOY.
Turkey produced 3.3 million tons of the material in May 2017, up by 9.7% YOY.
North America produced 7 million tons of the material in May 2017, up by 0.2% YOY.
Brazil produced 2.9 million tons of the material in May 2017, up by 13.2% YOY.
The crude steel capacity utilization of 67 countries was 71.8% in the global market in May 2017, up by 0.5% YOY but down by 1.8% MOM.
