After a total mark-down of around RMB600/t (USD60/t) in March-April, prices for steel plate rebounded by RMB80-230/t (USD12-34/t) in major Chinese domestic markets during the month, and the market performance showed signs of warming up. Meanwhile, the market stockpile was reduced obviously as traders were cautious about supplementing inventories and end users began to purchase actively seeing the spirally upward price trend. In the meantime, strong upward price trend of construction steel strengthened the confidence of steel plate market participants to some extent. Insiders foresee a slight price rise in June.
