Tianjin port sees the ship with largest chrome ore volume in history

Recently, Hongkong’s bulk ship of“Belgian minerals” has arrived at Tianjin port, which departed from South Africa and loaded 123,000t of chrome ore. This has been the largest chrome ore shipment at Tianjin port so far.
Chrome is one of the most valuable minerals, mainly used in the production of ferrochrome alloy and chrome metal. As an addictive of steel, ferrochrome alloy can be used in production of various special steels of high strength, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, high temperature resistance and oxidation resistance, such as stainless steel, acid resistant steel, ball bearing steel and so on.
As for previous chrome ore shipment at Tianjin port, most carries limited goods. However, this shipment is large in capacity and loaded volume. In order to guarantee the quality of the goods, Nanjiang office of Tianjin Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has learnt about the shipment in advance and drafted specific working plan, completing the draft survey work once the ship arrived.
