Shandong port ships back over 200t of copper concentrate with excessive arsenic

A batch of Mexican origin copper concentrate which has the volume of 203.7t and the value of USD200,300 was shipped back by Shandong Huangdao Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau recently. According to inspection results, the arsenic content of the material on the environment protection related project is 1.53% which is 3.06 times of the requirement to restrict harmful elements of heavy metal concentrate (GB20424-2006), indicating that the arsenic content of the batch of the copper concentrate is the most excessive among the material inspected in Shangdong port in the recent years.

The excessive arsenic will even disturb normal homergy of human cells to cause lesion and serious threat on human health.
