In early December, prices for Chinese manganese flake surged even as high as RMB17,500/t and returned to the fast downward track from mid-to-late December with declining prices for manganese ore and alloys based on weaker market. Due to enhancing supply surplus and the approaching of the year-end, enterprises faced higher pressure in sales and capitals. As a result, prices for the material are expected to move down further in early-to-mid January 2017.
