Prices of non-grain oriented electrical steel in major markets of China saw an upward trend during this month mainly supported by higher raw material costs and increase in steel mills’ list prices, while those of grain oriented electrical steel decreased further on weak customer demand. Domestic steel mills such as Baosteel and WISCO all raised their list prices of non-grain oriented electrical steel for December production. Insiders believe non-grain oriented electrical steel prices are likely to rise further and those of grain oriented electrical steel will go down again in the coming month.
