Chinese HR strip prices went up further during the month mainly supported by higher raw material costs and increase in steel mills’ list prices. As steel billet prices increased, HR strip producers raised their prices accordingly. Nevertheless, seeing the sharp price increase, customers without urgent need for materials were still taking a cautious attitude and refusing to place orders. Insiders do not expect the price to move up further in the coming month on weak customer demand.
