Prices of non-grain oriented electrical steel in major markets of China witnessed an upward trend during this month mainly supported by higher raw material costs and increase in steel mills’ list prices, while those of grain oriented electrical steel decreased on weak customer demand. Steel mills such as Baosteel and WISCO increased their list prices of non-grain oriented electrical steel for November production. Insiders believe non-grain oriented electrical steel prices will go up further and those of grain oriented electrical steel will remain downward in the coming month.
