In May, prices of wire rod and rebar continued to move down after they touched peak levels in late April and recorded a month-on-month decrease of 15%-20% due to the bad market performance. Prices went back to the level at the beginning of April or even lower than the level a month ago. However, the buying activity failed to increase after prices fell down so much. In addition, it will be the traditional low season for steel consumption in June. Insiders predict that prices for wire rod and rebar are likely to fluctuate and generally decline in the coming month.
