During March, prices for selenium powder in the Chinese market moved down further by RMB10/kg (USD1.54/kg) affected by the fact the prices in the overseas markets had kept falling. Nevertheless, the market continued to see limited transactions as domestic demand remained lackluster. It is anticipated that prices for selenium powder in the Chinese market will continue to face sever downward pressure during April. Prices for selenium dioxide edged up in late February, but started to fall immediately as we entered March and then kept hovering at low levels due to limited market transactions.
The Chinese tellurium metal 99.99%min remained fairly quiet during this month with prices stable. Consumers almost made no purchases while suppliers stuck to their quotations; as a result, the market was locked in a stalemate. It is anticipated that domestic demand will increase slightly in April but prices are unlikely to rise.
