Prices for steel plate in China rose sharply during the month, mainly because of price soar of raw materials as well as low stockpile, but the market performance remained unsatisfactory and showed no signs of improving influenced by the Spring Festival holiday. Not being confident of the market outlook, most traders refused to build large stocks. Considering the demand from downstream industries is weak, insiders do not think the steel plate price can go up again in March.
