Holding low inventories in hand, HRC traders in China were eager to raise prices during the month, and prices in major market went up sharply. Nevertheless, the demand from downstream industries remained insufficient influenced by the Spring Festival holiday, and the market ran slowly. Considering major producers like Baosteel, WISCO, Ansteel and HBIS all lifted HRC list prices for March production and purchase costs support heightened, insiders do not think the HRC price in the spot market will go down in March.
