AM Statistics: A total copper rod capacity of 620,000t to come on stream in China in 2016

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 13 Jan 16 - Latest data from Asian Metal showed that some new projects of low-oxygen copper rod with a total capacity of 620,000 tons will be put into production in 2016, and the total capacity in China is likely to reach 9.28 million tons at that time.
The following table lists the newly-built low-oxygen copper rod producers in 2016.
Due to the low processing charges and dim demand, the growth of copper rod capacity in China slowed down, and the newly-built copper rod copper capacity was 1.125 million tons in 2015.
Changzhou Nanhai Copper Co., Ltd and Jiangsu Hengtong Group finished the installation of the equipment and will debug the equipment this month. They are likely to start trial production in March and April respectively. In addition, Shanghai Shenghua Cable Group finished the construction but delayed the starting date again and again due to the high pressure on capital turnover and meager profits.
