Chinese HR strip prices maintained a downward trend during this month on lower steel billet prices and weak customer demand. Demand from downstream customers such as welded pipe and CR strip producers continued to be weak amid the gloomy economy, and many HR strip producers had to cut or quit production. Insiders do not predict the market will improve in the coming month.
