The tungsten market continued to be inactive in May with sporadic spot transactions as downstream consumers delayed purchasing, although the conducting of new resource tax had partly put pressures on upstream mining companies. Some suppliers had to lower the price to make deals due to financial strain and inventory pressure. The overseas consumers were not in a hurry to restock and continued to hold wait-and-see attitudes as the export quotation saw slightly decrease followed by the price drop of domestic tungsten products.
