Chinese silicon metal market continued the dull trend in April and the prices for all grade silicon metal dropped sharply. The demand in domestic and overseas markets was weak and the inventory was large on the spot market. Most deals were through long-term orders and the spot market saw few purchasing activities. The real demand did not pick up and most buyers expected silicon metal price to drop further in the rainy season, and thus, buyers were inactive in making purchase.
