BEIJING (Asian Metal) 17 Mar 15 - Steel plate prices soften in Vietnam’s major cities because of weak downstream demand. Most end users just take a wait-and-see attitude, inactive in placing orders.
A sales official from a steel plate trading company in Haiphong shows that the price for SS400 12-20mm from China is VND10,500,000/t (USD490/t) VAT included, down by VND100,000/t (USD5/t) over last week.
Noted by the source, downstream users only order in small quantities to meet the urgent need and refuse to build stocks. He complains about the market and plan to give more discounts to make deals basing on the ordering quantity.
