Chinese domestic market prices for HR strip witnessed a downward trend during the month, and the demand from downstream clients was soft. Most steel mills cut their ex-works prices, and traders followed suit. Some mills in North China were in maintenance and stopped the production. At the same time, to avoid risks, most traders reduced their inventories. Therefore, the supply of HR strip was tight. Under such conditions, insiders deem that the HR strip price is likely to go up slightly next month.
