Prices of wire rod and rebar in most domestic markets witnessed a downward trend this month due to the price decrease of raw material as well as steel mills’ lower ex-works prices. Moreover, downstream demand remained unreleased and end users held a wait-and-see attitude towards the market. Since June is the traditional rainy season for China’s southern regions, insiders believe that the demand will remain weak next month and prices will go down further.
