South China was in the dry season in March and most silicon metal smelters were still out of production. The supply for silicon metal kept tight on the spot market and the prices increased, especially those for low-grade silicon metal. Chinese silicon metal export market saw more orders in the first half of March and calmed down in late March. Overseas buyers’ target prices were still low and RMB depreciated sharply, thus, the export price rise was slow.
