The titanium market as a whole was in a downtrend in 2013. As the economic situation did not improve obviously during the year, demand from downstream consumers remained slow and the prices of titanium ilmenite, titanium slag, titanium tetrachloride, titanium metal and ferrotitanium went down greatly. Right through to the end of the year, prices for most materials were lower than the production costs.
