Although the Chinese chrome market did not change much in March, demand remained sluggish with few deals concluded. Many buyers had no confidence in the future market, so were holding a wait-and-see attitude towards it. As some major stainless steel mills have enough stocks of ferrochrome on hand, they have delayed purchasing high carbon ferrochrome until early April. Although prices on the Chinese ferrochrome market stayed low, the international chrome ore market remained firm, so many Chinese buyers were very cautious about purchasing chrome ore.
