Chinese domestic silicon carbide market ran steadily after entering January. Slightly tight supply of grade two black silicon carbide failed to boost prices as the whole demand generally remained strong. However, the market of grade one black silicon carbide remained soft with most producers holding large stocks in hand. Parts of consumers from downstream industries suspended operation with the Spring Festival drawing near, so transactions relatively decreased. In terms of the export market, foreign buyers were not active in sending enquiries, resulting in a quiet market.
