Singaporean welded pipe price decreases slightly

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Dec 13 - The welded pipe market is unsatisfying in Singapore at the moment and the demand from downstream industries is weak. Therefore, prices also decreased slightly. As for the coming market, insiders are not confident.
A trader in Singapore says that his quotation for SS400 Φ114.3mm*(3.6-4.2)mm is SGD1,060/t (USD836/t), falling by SGD20/t compared with that of last week.
The source tells that his materials were imported from Malaysia two weeks ago when the price decreased there, so he moved down the offer. Moreover, the market is not good in Singapore, and his company only holds a small stock of 6,000t, while the regular one in the peak season is 10,000t. In his opinion, the demand is hard to release at the end of the year, so he holds a cautious attitude towards the coming market.
Another trader in Singapore reported that the current quotation for SS400 Φ114.3mm*4.0mm imported from China is SGD780/t (USD616/t), falling by SGD15/t compared with that of last week.
The source discloses that export quotations provided by Chinese suppliers decreased about USD5-10/t in past several days, so he cut down quotations. In addition, this price is for customers who order more than 10 tons at a time. His total sales volume last week was only 15t, while the regular level in the peak season is 250tpw.
